The ones that look like this.

And make a crumbly mess when you eat them.

Are they something that normal people can make?

Yep they are, it's all about the type and quantity of sugar used

Try this

German food? I hope I'll still be allowed to use that site even after this week's events.

Have you done it yourself? Any tips?

Yes, I make these quite often in different flavours. I like them rolled in flaked almonds and cocoa.

My tip for big meringues is not to pipe but make a big blob with a large serving spoon, then a smaller blob with a dessert spoon on top. Then make swirls using a metal skewer.
I think it works because the air doesn't get knocked out.

I haven't tried the Dan Leppard recipe but IME his recipes usually work really well.

Thanks very much!

What flavours do you do and how do you get the flavour in without ruining the air?

Do the Dan Leppard ones come out gooey in the middle, Tea?

Try lemon zest grated into the meringue and crushed pistachios on top....yum

I found Delia's meringue recipe to be foolproof as she gives the amount of sugar to be used per each egg white.
