Can anyone think of high fat, quick, portable snacks?

DS needs to put on weight, he's heading for being fed at night by a tube if he doesn't start going up on the weight charts rather than down, he's 11 and has a medical condition that causes him to not absorb fat, he is on a prescribed very high fat/calorie/salt diet.

I have been advised to take a box of high fat snacks into school for him to have something at break time, it needs to be something quick, that doesn't need any prep and isn't too messy ideally. I have the obvious muffins, cheese, flapjacks but I'm struggling to vary it. There is a no nut rule at school so that rules out snack packs of nuts.

Hummus with breadsticks or carrot sticks?
Yoghurt pouches?
Avocado - would he eat it just out of the skin with a spoon??

Does he like olives?

Cottage cheese
Full fat yoghurt
Pate
Hummus

mouldycheesefan · 29/03/2016 14:15

Cream cheese either as a dip or in sandwiches
Cheese in any form
Agree Houmous and avocado
Crisps and chocolate? Or is that not allowed?
Yoghurt full fat
Milk

RatOnnaStick · 29/03/2016 14:15

Cold sausages?

Titsalinabumsquash · 29/03/2016 14:16

He doesn't like avocado or hummus sadly, he's not fussy but they are 2 things he won't eat.

I haven't been able to find any full fat yoghurt in pouches, they're all low fat ones, unless I'm looking in the wrong place. I did ask in Tesco and the store manager told me that people don't want full fat food for children so they didn't stock it. Hmm

cheese and crackers, boiled eggs, hummus and crispbreads, rolled slices of cooked meats, milkshakes, yoghurt-topped granola,

Petit Filous do pouches OP and are not low fat

gaggiagirl · 29/03/2016 14:18

Peanuts/peanut butter
Cashews or macadamia, comes in butter too.
Mini pork pies
Pulled pork, from lidl/aldi/asda. Pop in a wrap with mayo.

Whatthefreakinwhatnow · 29/03/2016 14:19

Nutella sandwiches if chocolate is allowed then, quick and full of calories if you use white bread. Chocolate milk and a banana would also work.

gaggiagirl · 29/03/2016 14:19

X post there about the nuts.
All butter croissants
Cream cheese
Corned beef

Whatthefreakinwhatnow · 29/03/2016 14:21

Dried fruit is also got in calories and wouldn't need fridge space

gaggiagirl · 29/03/2016 14:22

Jam cream scone.
White chocolate

mogloveseggs · 29/03/2016 14:22

Are frubes not full fat? You can get yeo Valley tubes too not sure what they're called though.

gaggiagirl · 29/03/2016 14:22

Pepperami

ClaudiaWankleman · 29/03/2016 14:23

Peanut butter - they give it to victims of famine I believe. It is high fat, high calorie and good for weight gain. Eat off a spoon or on top of apple slices etc.

Whatthefreakinwhatnow · 29/03/2016 14:23

Also, things like bagels, croissants, cheesy bread rolls etc, can be eaten as they are or with cream cheese, meat, dairlylea etc

Whatthefreakinwhatnow · 29/03/2016 14:24

Not good for school, but friends DS has a similar problem and she makes him ice cream shakes, very high in fat and calorie dense and easy to get into him Smile

momb · 29/03/2016 14:24

hard boiled eggs.

Whatthefreakinwhatnow · 29/03/2016 14:27

Friends sin takes hotdogs to school in a flood flask, then just poos then into a bun and away he goes.

SquareDolphin · 29/03/2016 14:28

Pot of double cream
Bacon rashers
Pork scratchings
Bulletproof coffee variation using decaf or hot chocolate, so add coconut oil and butter to hot drink and froth in blender.

Whatthefreakinwhatnow · 29/03/2016 14:28

Dear god! worst predictive text fail ever! POPS them into a bun, pops! Blush

SquareDolphin · 29/03/2016 14:29

Peanut butter and banana smoothies with whipped cream

fingles · 29/03/2016 14:31

Since his is a serious medical need too, could you talk the school into letting him sit and eat a pack of nuts in a room with supervision once a week for 5 minutes, maybe?

CMOTDibbler · 29/03/2016 14:34

Waitrose clotted cream rice pudding has 332 cal per pot which is pretty good going.

A milkshake in a food flask (easy to drink direct from them) made from channel island milk with maxijoule powder and clotted cream ice cream blended in.

Those egg muffin things done in a muffin tin with plenty of cheese.

Ham and cheese roll ups
