My favourite food is Turkish / Persian / Lebanese, I guess Ottolenghi type things but I don't really cook much of it as I'm a bit lazy about trying new things. Can anyone share some relatively quick recipes that have become favourites? Thanks

Yes orginal Smile

You can actually buy them in asda of all places. If my MIL ran out she would just add lemon juice as a replacement.

Is the recepie that you are thinking called fes an jun? I have made this for a vegi friend. I just replaced the chicken with green lentils, but kept the onions, ground walnuts and pomegranate molasses the same.

Could be. I do a weird veggie version.

There's also a veggie ball stew thing. And of course gormeh sabzi (we call it cat stew - gormeh/gorbi haha). There's also a gloopy stew with noodles and match stick chips on top. Oh God kookoo - how could I forget?! Add dome zereshk to it and it is really good.

The lemons we get a sent over and a werid lemon/lime thing. DS is mad about sumac and puts it on everything. I can't get baby garlic anywhere for love nor money and its bloody lovely in sabzi polo.

Tell your mum that my pal is called Anne Reid (yes really). Childish I know...

The gloopy stew with noodles is osh resh day I think. My MIL makes this quite often, I'm not a fan but DH luffs it.

I love zeresh polo (barbaries for those not familiar), there is also a rice dish that has grated carrot, raisins and onions mixed through it whilst at the steaming stage.

Not Middle Eastern but Georgian and amazing: aubergines filled with walnuts: the filling is with chopped walnuts, garlic , saffron, lots of fresh herbs and a dash of vinegar in a fried aubergine.
