How to increase the kids intake of fruit...ideas please

Well actually my intake too as it is less than the kids.

I always buy apples and bananas and then usually something else too, grapes or strawberries or something but over the last few months no one seems to have been eating it and I end up chucking it out.

I have started offering only fruit if they are hungry between meals, sometimes they will have and sometimes they won't.

Any ideas ??

See mine have got into the habit of having yoghurt or biscuits for their afters, but thats my fault because i let them.

Thankfully I don't have the same problem with vegetables as they all wolf those down.

Yeah, fruit is the default dessert around here, too. Sometimes there are biscuits etc, but generally there aren't. (And most of the time, if there is cake, it's cake with vegetables or fruit, or both, in it.)

Wrong time of year but... the only way to get fruit into my ds is ice lollies (anything more unusual than a banana is viewed with suspicion)! Just experiment with different flavours. Chuck the fruit in a blender push it through a sieve to get rid of any pips, top up with apple or orange juice and freeze!

I currently rely heavily on Humzinger bars (aka Sweetie bars) and dried apricots (the more expensive foil-packed soft ones that actually taste nice), dd has strong opinions on most fruit and veg. I usually bribe her to bite the end off ds's banana most days too.
Sainsbury's were doing some nice pink pears before Xmas, I find quite a few 'fairy' foods are pink and will go down.

redclover - snap! And IME, never the wrong time of year! They think it's a real treat for pudding to have an ice lolly (which just happens to be 100 per cent frozen fruit whcih they wouldn't normally touch with a bargepole)
Also very soothing when they have sore throats!
