Thinking of buying one, please can someone tell me if they have one and if so was it worth the money?

TIA

Yes!

There was another thread on this recently - have a look in the archive.

Loads of people raving about their Panasonic SD252 (me included) which is a fab machine.

Really easy use, fantastic results and you know exactly what you're eating.

We've not bought a loaf since we've had the machine and as well as ordinary loaves we've also made pizza dough, naan dough and foccacia.

this is the other thread about breadmakers

Depends if you want the old 'fresh bread in the morning' thing. I was severely tempted by all the Panasonic talk, but I'd end up the size of a house if I made too much bread, it's irresistible with butter.

I've since discivered that I can make it sooo easily using my food processor and although i do have to cook it in the oven it is gorgeous and really quick to do.

Do you have room in your kitchen to keep it out all the time?

yes i do have room to keep it out.
im going to have a look on the link, thanks

Yes - we love it!

I have the Panasonic which I got 3 weeks ago (I blame Fio actually). We haven't bought a loaf of bread since. I did put on 4lbs admittedly the first week, have lost that since and my bread addiction is firmly under control.

DD sat there the other day at breakfast with her fresh bread saying how much nice the homemade one was, so Fio is now off the hook

I got one for my birthday and love it. I started a thread on here to help decide between a Panasonic and Morphy Richards. Eventually went for the MR at half the price of the Panasonic and it is wonderful. No more bought bread here either.

ludaloo · 06/12/2006 20:01

Hello!
I started the other thread...and happily its my christmas pressie!!
It is a Panasonic 252 too...I specifically wanted that one after posting the thread
I have since met a few people who are delighted with their breadmakers...so go for it!!!

jenk1 · 06/12/2006 20:09

northender, i have just been looking at the prices and the Morphy Richards are half price, which one did you go for if you dont mind me asking?

I know a handful of people who had one. Lasted about a year then they all got rid of it or put it in the loft.

BonyM · 06/12/2006 20:39

Oh, should say that I've put on half a stone since buying mine .

Be warned!

worcestercaroline · 06/12/2006 20:40

Please let me know how yr MR goes as I got 1 and am really struggling with it have only had 1 good loaf out of 9. Think panasonic would have been a better 1 for me, we got ours with nectar points and my husband will be mad if i don't use it as have been asking for 1 for ages.

northender · 07/12/2006 18:57

jenk I got the Stainless steel Fastbake one (£69.99 Argos) I got it for £50 at a local shop. Haven't had any problems so far but you do have to follow the recipes quite closely.
