Nutribullet ...I just made banana ice cream in under a minute. What have you made with yours?

I've made juices and soup. I had some frozen bananas so thought I'd make a smoothie. I googled and came across the banana ice cream. A splash of water and pulse two bananas until they're ice cream. It's lovely.

I made a noob mistake of freezing the bananas with the skin on (DOH)!!! Will try again with some sliced frozen bananas Grin

RubberDuck I have to admit now that we did that as well! I had DH stood at the sink with a potato peeler for five minutes Confused

RubberDuck · 27/10/2015 14:20

Hahaha (I just swore then chucked them in the bin - kudos to your dh!)

FreakinScaryCaaw · 27/10/2015 22:51

I did that with mine. I just let them thaw a few mins then peeled it off.

I'll peel them next time though.

Ooh you are all tempting me to ask for a nutribullet for Christmas! Never considered one before as I don't really see the point of juicing but I do like the idea of making ice cream and peanut butter. Does it come with a recipe book or can anyone link to a good website?
Also, is it the same as a vitamix? I've seen this mentioned on various recipes recently

Could you use a nutribullet to make wet spice pastes e.g. for Thai curry, with lemongrass, chilli etc?

BeaBoo · 28/10/2015 15:23

Seal I make marinades in mine so definitely. DP does a lime and coriander one which goes lovely with fish.

VimFuego101 · 28/10/2015 16:20

I've made salad dressing in mine. The only thing I would say is that some spices really stain the cup thingy - turmeric etc. So now we have one designated one for that and don't use it for smoothies.

Yes hazel you get a book. Am sure you can find recipes online, plus on here.

I minced steak in mine tonight. I didn't have enough mince for spag bog. Not sure I should've done it though? Halloween Confused

Breakfast. I never have time, nor appetite, for breakfast before work. So I have a smoothie & take it to work. Prepare the night before, stick in the fridge, then blend in the morning. Takes 30 seconds. My current favourites are:

Half an avocado, small banana, 5 tsp raw cacao powder, 3 tsp chia seeds, about half a cup orange juice, fill up with water.

2 apples (cored), half a cup of blackcurrants, half a cup of apple juice, 1 inch slice of lemon, fill up with water.

Watermelon (lots), sprig of fresh mint, couple of inches of cucumber, fill up with water.

Mind you, I don't have much of a sweet tooth - I like my fruit sharp & unsweetened.

Not quite as healthy, but I have a week of pro-biotic powder I take once a month and you're supposed to stir it in water but it always clumps and tastes yucky.

However, a banana, some milk, a half scoop of vanilla protein powder plus pro-biotic powder makes a great breakfast milkshake Grin

Sounds great TIM.

Rubber that does sound healthy.
