So I dropped my eggs

Can I still use them? They have cracks in the them, but no actual egg is seeping out. If I can use them, should I use them now or will they be okay for a few days. I dropped a whole 5 dozen eggs, but thankfully got away with only 8 or so with cracks. 8 eggs is kind of a stretch to use in one day for me though.

Of course you can, why wouldn't you be able to? Confused

They'll be fine.
Use those 8 first.

Or. Bake a cake!

What were you doing with 60 eggs? Shock Grin

If you beat them slightly, you can freeze egg. I'd keep a yolk or white in the fridge for a few days, so if you use them fairly quickly, and break into a separate bowl, just in case one has gone, you should be fine.

But, please, what were you going to do with them all??

It's cheaper to buy eggs at Costco and you get 5 dozen for only £3.49/£3.99 I can't quite remember. I normally eat 2 a day for lunch and use two to make Yorkshire puddings, plus I also make bread. So they do get used really quickly. Grin

I don't know why you wouldn't be able to, I guess just because if there is a crack they might go bad or if there is any bacteria or something on the shell it would make it easier for it to get to the actual egg. Something along those lines.

You can boil them, too, as long as you add vinegar to the water. The acid coagulates the protein from the egg white if any escapes into a ball attached to the shell.
