Delia's Lasagne

I love Delia's lasagne & it's a bit of a staple in this house but I'm just wondering about the bechamel sauce. Every single time I make it I seem to have way more sauce than I actually need. And I mean WAY MORE. I prob use about a third of the required amount! Does anyone else find this? I'm also wondering if perhaps the lasagne is meant to be quite 'sloppy' and it's just us who prefer it a little firmer/drier?

Thank you in advance for your kind words/suggestions.

I use her recipe as well. I tend to put slightly more lasagne sheets in, although not too much as it was like chewing a big block of pasta once! Next time I make it I'm going to try the MN tip of layering differently, starting with pasta on the bottom. Apparently it makes it less sloppy and easier to slice up.

Just use what you think you need then freeze the rest. It's always pretty handy to have some ready!
