Easy no-cook recipes needed, please

I'm looking for easy recipes to make with my Beaver group. We don't have access to any cooking facilities so they have to be no-cook, plus nothing that needs time to set as they have to be made and taken home within an hour. We have a halogen ring which we can use to melt chocolate/butter but that's about it.

We've done the obvious ones - fruit salad, chocolate crispy cakes, smoothies, sandwiches, fruit kebabs. Looking for new inspiration!

French toast
Pan cakes

Could you take a microwave in?
that would open up a range of things - sponge puddings, microwave flapjack, scrambled eggs, porridge etc

Salad with ham/prawns?

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 15/09/2015 09:24

Muesli

Dips with cut up veg to dip in? You could make guacamole, salsa, yogurt with mild curry powder and humus (either bring a hand blender or mash chick peas with a fork).

Rocky road.
You can cook pancakes over a Candle/tealight. How old are beavers??
Condensed milk fudge
Playdoh

Could you use a gas camping stove?

RebeccaMumsnet · 15/09/2015 10:02

Can you have a fire/BBQ type thing?

We make bannocks It's a bread made over a fire, we wrap around a stick and it takes about ten minutes. You can adapt to suit, add raisins, honey or use Nutella or Jam as a dip. The kids love it.

or apologies for the shameless promotion this is good for Halloween and totally no cook...

I did these with my beavers last year at our Halloween party, you can always use jam if there are nut allergies.

Beavers are age 6-8.

We can use a camping gas stove but have to be careful not to set the smoke alarms off.

Like the dips/crudites idea and I love Rebecca's Troll's teeth - definitely going to use those for Halloween.

Googling has also come up with Salad Skewers - chunks of cucumber and pepper, cherry tomatoes and chunks of cheese threaded onto skewers. Also, apple pizzas where you use apples as the pizza base, crushed raspberries (or raspberry jam) as the tomato puree, dessicated coconut for mozzarella cheese, raisins for pepperoni and dark chocolate chips for olives. They look great!

Wraps-use tortillas or if you can find it, proper flatbread from Middle Eastern shops. Fill with salad veg, tinned sweetcorn, cooked meat, herbs and whatever sauce takes your fancy.

hello

how about some 'energy balls'? Sweet little balls of dired fruit and nuts - organic, no additives and vegan. no cooking :)) in my experience kids love them.

I have written a book with a different recipe for each week of the year - ordered by seasonal flavours.

Would love for you to check it out!

Thanks

Hot chocolate? Here's a recipe that's a bit different... www.eatdrinkcook.co.uk/raspberry-lavender-white-hot-chocolate/

MILdesperandum · 16/09/2015 21:07

Popcorn?

BeaufortBelle · 16/09/2015 21:09

Popcorn or toffee apples

Oldieandgoldie · 16/09/2015 21:19

Cheesecakes?

Digestive biscuits spread with cream cheese, and topped with black currant jam/lemon curd/defrosted fruits of the forest etc

And please do not use a gas ring in a church hall...I know someone who suffered massive burns and is scarred for life when things went wrong.

Allalonenow · 16/09/2015 21:33

Cream cheese balls, sieved cheese, a little yoghurt to help it blend, finely chopped herbs, cayene pepper, roll in chopped nuts if there are no allergic children.

Chocolate truffles, would be good to make these near Christmas for presents.

Cheese and pineapple Hedgehog ~ a must for the group party!

Allalonenow · 16/09/2015 21:37

Mints made with royal icing and mint extract, dusted with icing sugar.
