Please help,
I am trying to think of recipes for Christmas presents, I have made some marmalade, piccalilli and crab apple jelly??. But I really need some sweet ideas. Have thought of fudge and gingerbread but am concerned as we have to drop most pressies off the weekend of the 16th of December and so stuff will have too keep until the 30th at least (and I don?t want people to open mouldy gingerbread on xmas day!) Will make some individual xmas puds for adults but has anyone got any ideas for sweeties for children that will last.
Please help, am getting desperate!
Cheers,

Hi,

WHat about peppermint creams? Think they last quite a long time and are dead quick and easy to make!!!

What about marzipan shapes?? Marzipan keeps for 3 weeks!!

Sorry I have a fab little book 'the usborne yummy little cookbook' which is full of ideas for 'sweet' presents for different occasions. Obviously these can be adapted to suit any occasion I guess!! Anyway it does say in there that most recipes need to be eaten with in 1 week or 10 days (cutting it a bit fine for you really!!)

Will keep looking through it and let you know if I think of anything else!! If you can get the time down to about 10days then theres loads in here but 14 days is pushing it a bit!!

dates stuffed with marzipan

creams - like peppermint creams, but use different essences (vanilla, rose water, orange) and then you could add a food colouring to identify them and dip half in melted chocolate.

Turkish delight / marshmallows - my sister has the river cottage family cookbook and there are loads of lovely sweetie recipes in there.

How about wrap up an orange or empty jam jar and put in it a voucher to be redeemed in January for a pot of homemade seville marmalade (the oranges are only around in jan/feb).
