I would like a great cookbook, based on family meals. Am quite interested in Tana Ramseys book although I havent managed to have a look at it yet. So have any of you ladies got any reccomendations.

dont buy that one i have heard bad things a good one would be the dinnerlady or jamies dinners, i am a cookbookaholic i have loads!!

I am slowly working up my cook book collection but I usually get the books out of the library first and see how many of the recipes I would actually cook out of it. If there aren't many then I just copy the recipes into a book. I also cut out recipes from magazines and stick them in a book, I realise I am turning into a grandmother 30 years too early but finances must!

The Dinnerlady books are quite good, as is Jamie's Dinners but I have been using my most recent purchase Cooking With Daisy a lot recently as it is a big hit with dts (age nearly 5.)

Oh and if you go to The Book People site they usually have a whole host of cook books at bargain prices.

I like The Dinnerlady cookbook for every day family type meals.

You know, as much as I love my Gordon Ramsey and Nigella cookbooks the one I actually use all the time is my Mary Berry Cookbook.

I would go with hulababy and say the dinner lady. It is si obviously made for children and all the dinners I have made have gone down really well!

oooh I have heard that the "Good Housekeeping Family Cookbook" is a good one....its on my christmas list.

thanks for all your replys, I shall check out these books. I want a book for everyday family meals, not the type that need loads of strange ingredients! Thanks again, any more suggestions welcome

Is this the dinner lady book? here

I was a bit put off by the review that said it's 2/5ths prose. I don't want to read about school dinners! I just want some good family recipes.
Does anyone know if the 2nd helpings one any good?
