Dessert to make with small children!

I'm having a cooking party for my DD, who will be four. The party is not in our house, but I will have a hob available, I can't let the kids near it though.

We're making pizza for our main course, but looking for ideas for a dessert / sweet treat that we might be able to make. There will be six mini cooks in total, so something that we could prepare 'I Can Cook' style, with them all doing their own thing, would be ideal.

Ideally it would be a no-cook dessert but I could probably do something that needs to be baked after it would be prepared, or requires addition of something that an adult could prepare (like a sauce or something)

Does anyone have any ideas? I was thinking fruit kebabs but that is perhaps not v inspiring. TIA!

I think decorating cupcakes or biscuits is the best bet. Either make or buy plain ones in advance, squeezy icing or buttercream and lots of sprinkles, sweets etc to decorate. Children that age love it, and they could always take their 'creation' home in lieu of birthday cake.

Lots of squishing in fifteens and they taste amazing !!

Lots of people don't like glacé cherries so you can substitute them for m&ms or anything really .

All these suggestions have made me hungry

Rocky road, easy to make and great fun for kids, shouldn't take too long to set in fridge either!

Mini trifles! Get small plastic cups in bright colours, or those disposable plastic tubs for pudding servings. Ingredients: sponge fingers, orange or apple juice, jam, some jelly (either pre-made from the supermarket, I sometimes get the jelly with raspberries already in it, or you can make it in advance from a packet), fresh berries, a carton or two of pre-made custard, some squirty cream and a selection of sprinkly toppings/silver balls etc.

Each kid squishes a bit of broken-up sponge finger spread with jam into their cup or tub, get an adult to help drizzle the sponge very lightly with some juice, add a few mashed up spoons of jelly, some berries, pour on a thin layer of pre-made custard, squirt on the cream then decorate. Chill for half an hour in fridge if available. Voila mini trifles! Really fun for kids to make and they don't need to look too neat; in fact, the messier, the tastier.

(I even make these for adult dinner parties occasionally, only substitute pre-bought for home-made ingredients and sherry for juice ;))

If you make up jelly and then add frozen fruit, it sets really fast Smile

Smores! Rich tea or digestives. Kids spread nutella on them, add minimarshmallows. Adults microwave for a few seconds..mmmmm sugar rush. AND because hot marshmallow /microwave times need to be checked you get to practice beforehand....

Thanks everyone! This had disappeared a bit down threads I'm on and hadn't seen that I'd had more ideas! Some of you are very creative. I will speak to my party helpers and see what they think is feasible.
