Kitchenaid mixer - Classic v Artisan

I've recently started baking as I have more time at home and I love it despite recently mixing up bicarb and baking powder RIP muffins

I have been lusting after a kitchenaid mixer but funds are limited. I've found a very good deal on a classic but wasn't sure if I should continue to save my pennies for an artisan.

I do light baking a couple of times a week, muffins, cookies, cakes etc. and maybe bread and pizza dough a couple of times a month. Though with the addition of a good mixer I wonder if this will increase.

From what I've read classical isn't recommended for everyday baking of bread but occasional use its fine.

Help!

I have the classic - I'm an occasional baker - and it is fine for me. I think that the bowl may be too small for a really busy/expert baker though.

I does make a good meringue!

I spent ages researching this and going back and forth over the options and in the end went for the Kenwood Kmix stand mixer. It's cheaper than the kitchen aid, and much more powerful. No brainier.

I have a classic. I love it.

I have over whipped meringue in it, Confusedso back to the handwhisk for that.

The classic I found was ridiculously cheap, but I can't find one in stock now so back to dreaming...

Thanks for the replies.

i've just bought a nearly new one from Pre-Loved - worth taking a look on there or Ebay in case someone has bought one and doesn't want it any more?

I have an Artisan, but bake twice a week. I love the size of the bowls, esp when I have large volumes of butter cream to make.

My mum has a classic, and is perfect for her occasional baking.
