I have to do it at Iceland too as I need it delivered.

I don't think I need any non food stuff, well nothing that can't wait anyway.

Cupboards are already pretty bare so need 6 days worth of meals, can that even be done ?

cheesey omlet for one dinner? (not sure if u have enough eggs thou)

fishfingers and chips if enough. if not mash?

use the mince and chilli sauce then the yorshires and have yorkshire filled chilli things (DH loves this!) quick and v filling.

I can't open the tins either least not with the key - I use a tin opener! lol.

Well you are not far off being able to make a lasagne there are you? If you make double quantites you could have lasagne one day and spag bol another day. If you are a bit short of mince you could eek the meals out with garlic bread.

Could you serve the fish in sauce with the golden veg rice and corn on the cob. That is another meal done. Maybe buy some chicken thighs and have them with roasties and york puds and buy some more frozen veg.

Yep i definatly have at least half of what I need to make enough meals.

I must look in the cupboards more often, can't believe what was in there.

Will sit down tonight and write out all the meals and what I need for each.

Thanks all

pork & turkey tend to be the cheapest meats & you could use either of those with a few of the packet mixes you've already got.
Big bag of spuds: you can then do roast, mashed, fried, boiled.
Big bag of rice & pasta
Couple of loaves of bread for snacks
pot of jam
Big tub of marg
Frozen veg
Cans of baked beans
milk
That shouldn't cost you more than £30 & should see you through, with what you've got.

bozza thats one of our favourite meals here

sausages (can grill outside first if you like
'em crispy)
tin of mixed beans (or baked beans if you like)
tin of tomatoes
300ml gravy
squirt of tomato puree (optional)

cook slowly on hob

nice with tatties or rice or just on their own

chickpea curry and rice. if you use the dried chickpeas it is even cheaper. In fact a whole family could probably live for a month off a bag of dried chicpeas, they go one forever. i just use a curry paste and also bung in whateve ver is around. but even chickpeas alone is tasty and healthy.

Sausage casserole is one of our favourites too but do cook your sausages first to keep a bit of 'bite' or they turn into what my dds call 'limp willy stew'. Fry onions, add sausages already cooked, one can tomatoes, one can oxtail soup and bubble on stove top until hot.

Also spicy bean casserole - either a tin of tomato soup or oxtail (can you see a theme here?) plus a tin of mixed beans. Add any other veggies you like and heat until boiling. If we've got any (rare) we sometimes add broken tortilla-style chips on top and grated cheese then flash under the grill for faux-Mexican stylee meal.

And let's not forget that college standby 'Varsity Pie' - can of tuna, can condensed chicken soup, can of sweetcorn. Mix it together, cover with bread to form a crust, sprinkle cheese on top and 45 mins in the oven.
