Tropicana Go

Are these really a good/better alternative to Fruitshoots, etc?

Trying to gauge. I don't like DD to have Fruitshoots as they do seem to affect her afterwards.

BUT the bottle idea is good for when out (I know I could take our own bottle out - but I have yet to find any that is completely leak prrof or as compact) and about, especially with the sports type top and also when friends come round as some as so used to having Fruitshoot styles. DD normally has water, but wants juice and pop a bit more now she is older and at school.

So, Tropicana Go....

Ingrediants for Tropicana Go! Apple & Blackcurrant

Fruit Juices from Concentrate (Apple 40%, Grape 24%, Blackcurrant 5%, Elderberry 0.3%), Water 30%, Vitamin C, Natural Flavourings.

Ingrediants for Orange & Pear

Fruit Juices from Concentrate (White Grape 35%, Orange 24%, Pear 11%), Water 30%, Vitamin C, Natural Flavourings.

Both say:

Purely 70% juice + 30% water with Vitamin C and natural flavour.

No Added Sugar
Free From Artificial Colour
Free From Artificial Flavours
Free From Artificial Preservatives

hope someone posts to say they are beeter cos I get them for DS - he goes hyper on fruit shoots and is fine on Go. So, they must be better!! he only gets them after football TBH and if we're travelling.

WeaselMum · 18/11/2006 11:05

what's in fruit shoots?

WeaselMum · 18/11/2006 11:21

just seen other thread - tropicana go sounds loads better!

Gingerbear · 18/11/2006 11:23

I used to get these for DD in her packed lunch.
But they are expensive.
Can't you get a sports top bottle and make a 70-30 mix of fruit juice and council pop?

iota · 18/11/2006 11:25

we tried Tropicana go - they taste disgusting ( to me and my children that is)

sainsbury's do good cartons of diluted pure fruit juice.

iota · 18/11/2006 12:11

my kids like calpso organic

yes I know it's only 10% juice and expensive, but the kids like them and find them convenient in their lunchboxes ( as do I)

and there's no nasty additives

NotQuiteCockney · 18/11/2006 12:30

Tropicana Go sounds fine. Water is better, etc etc, but this sounds fine.

My kids actually both really like cooled herbal tea.

hulababy · 18/11/2006 18:14

Phew! That's okay then.

I know I can do my own fruit juice and wate r- but some of DD's school friends like the old Fruitshoot type thing. Looking for a better alternative as I can't bring myself to buy or give DD Fruitshoots. And the cartons aren't thesame to them - I know, I have done them too!

As I said, DD drinks mainly water but as she gets older she is wanting to try other stuff now too., espeically hen friends are over.

Cost not an issue as not buying loads of them.

Relief here too as I buy them for dd. I also keep the empty bottles and refill with my own juice/water combo.

hulababy · 18/11/2006 18:22

We do that too

The bottles are really handy aren't they? A nice size, don't leak, better than anything I've bought tbh and also seem to make water more attractive to dd.

Furball · 18/11/2006 20:39

the calypso organic ones seem quite proud of the fact that their juice is - Dairy Free, Egg Free, Fish Free, Gluten Free, GM Free, Nut Free, Vegetarian

Now does anyone know of any drink that contains those ingredients?

fullmoonfiend · 18/11/2006 20:40

PY and HB - mee too

Gingerbear · 18/11/2006 21:03

furball - Sunny D and fruitshoots probably.
