How do I eat a custard apple?

Bought 2 on bargain yesterday, and now they're sitting in my fruit bowl looking at me threateningly...

Come on, SOMEONE must have eaten one?? Or are they going rotten in fruit bowls round the country...

I've never even seen one (that I'm aware of anyway). Let me know if it's nice!

If its like the ones I used to have in Australia, cut it open and scoop out the flesh - don't eat the seeds.

Well at first I thought you meant something like a toffee or a chocolate apple and was imagining an apple dripping with custard and thought no wonder she's wondering how to eat it!

and I bet I wasn't alone...

ummm, me & dd quite like it - sort of a gentle-tasting mango/papya I'd say. Maybe slightly custardy taste... pips are a beggar though...not an easy eating 'experience...'
