Is 3oz margarine the same as 3fl.oz. oil in a cake recipe?

It should be about the same, I guess. Bit tricky, as oil is liquid at room temperature, while marg is solid.

You're also comparing weight with volume. So tricky all around. But about the same. A bit too much fat or a bit too little won't make the cake inedible.

Found I didn't have enough margarine so did part margarine, part olive oil. Worked fine
