DD's 2nd birthday is coming up. At every one of DS's birthdays so far we've massively over-catered!

Money is tight this year, but still i'd love to conjure up a feast for the little ones.

The ages will be mixed, toddlers and older kids, and we're vegetarian.

I'd really appreciate any tips.

I don't think I have time to do boxes. I did some before and they were great, but I happened to come across a huge pack of (sealed, unused!) dinosaur boxes in a charity shop. We got through them a while back at parties and they were great.

But I wouldn't know where to get them from in time.

Also I am very happy to adults to have a bit to eat if there's spare.

You are overcatering. Pizza pops, breadsticks, crisps, fruit. Water or squash to drink. Birthday cake. They eat so little at parties that huge amounts gets wasted.

Hmm, I suspect you're right!

What should I cull from the list above?

Cut down list:

A few sandwiches.

Pizza pops - from Onykahonie's idea and also this on Pinterest

Breadsticks with chocolate sprinkles

Cheese straws (these are for me tbh :) )

Cheese & pineapple hedgehog

Fruit / salad kebabs

Crisps, chocolate buttons etc, cake.

Squash to drink.

Are you using paper plates? If so then it is the same as a party box, just clingfilm it. Your list sounds lovely btw

Chocolate spread sarnies. Any left overs makes a lush bread and butter pud.

Sounds great to me. Maybe skip the sandwiches/wraps? Mind you, I always over cater at parties too!
Asda do bags of mini frozen cheese and onion 'sausage' rolls, or I buy a box of Linda M's, defrost slightly and cut each into 3 mini sausage rolls.
