Magimix died on me, what to buy next?

Any advice please? My trusty Magimix has died on me. It got a lot of use - almost daily, but I only every used it for grating (veggies, esp carrots which take some grating) and making crumble / pastry etc. I have a Vitamix which is a wonderful blender and a Braun stick blender (which probably won't last long now). I'm really keen to replace it asap as have grated carrot and cucumber for b'fast every morning and tennis elbow, so manual grating is not a great idea. There are so many different products all promising the world - what would you advise, based on what you use in your kitchen? Much appreciated. x

My magimix died - I celebrated! and I bought a Sage Pro Wizz....so far I've only used it to chop chocolate, which it managed much better than the magi-mix, will use it tonight for meatballs.

Thanks Sconess... off to read up on it now. Interesting that you celebrated! I felt so sad, but then wondering if there is something even better out there. What made you buy a Sage Pro and why do you like it so much more than a magimix?

My magimix was rubbish at grating - it just wasn't consistent, so I always preferred to hand chop....I'm hoping this machine does a better job at it. And my magimix was probably too small - not its fault. And cleaning was awkward - too many nooks and crannys for food to hide, if I didnt wash it immediately then I'd be in trouble. And the lid was awkward to fit, fine for me but the kids and dh often struggle to align it.
The things that appealed to me about the pro
Good reviews by Which, bloggers, youtube demos.
Although I have a mincer, I don't use it because it's annoying to clean and best saved for bulk cooking. The pro chops meat to a mince - probably not as fine as my mincer but I hope fine enough.
It has a sealed bowl, so liquid capacity is pretty good - the magimix bowl wasn't sealed.
It has a large mouth - I guess they all have this now.

I've only had it for a couple of weeks, so I couldn't heartily recommend it yet.

There's a little Tefal thing that has small drums that you put on the front - a bit like a nose if that makes sense. It's red and white, but can't remember what it's called.

I've just bought a Kenwood Multipro FP691. It's special offer with Tesco at £49.99, has a 900w engine.

Just plucking up the courage to try it ! Grin
