Cake in a Pyrex bowl

DD wants to make one of those cakes with a doll half in the dome of sponge (Princess type dolll cake)

If we use a Pyrex bowl to get the shape, how do I calculate the quantity and how long to bake for?

I have a 1 litre bowl (diameter 17cm)

Will this even work or is it better to stack layers of sponge and 'carve' the excess ( the icing will cover a multitude of sins)

TIA

I have done this, for a hedgehog I think. No idea re quantity, if you have too much mix put it in bun cases.

Cook slightly lower than usual and for longer

Trial run

We made a cake in a metal pudding basin, and a sandwich tin (pudding basin wouldn't be deep enough)

The pudding basin cooked ok but compared to the sandwich tin, it was heavy and a massive hole /air bubble in it.
Sandwich tin cake is nice.

So we'll re do using three sandwich tins to get the depth and she can stack and carve them.
No idea what she has available at school but her time is limited.
