Chicken breasts + visiting children who don't like spicy food - any suggestions?

Was going to do fajitas but one of the visiting dc won't eat them (no criticism, I was the fussiest child ever). Any suggestions for what I can do with the millions of chicken breasts I have, something we can all eat (parents and children)? Completely out of inspiration today.

Just do a couple with a bit of salt lemon and oil for the fussy eaters and whatever for the rest of you. Fajitas is my fall back for fussy eaters as everyone can take what they like without feeling pressured

Chicken goujons with a rice crispie coating - even my fussy "won't eat chicken" eater will eat those.

"Hunters" chicken
Cook chicken breasts in a tomato based sauce, add some grated cheese over each breast and put back in oven for final 10 mins while cheese melts.
Serve with rice and boiled veggies
(Not hugely exciting, but always gets eaten even by the fussiest ime)

I'd make fajitas as you were planning but just keep a couple of the chicken breasts back and cook them plain. My fussy DD would be perfectly happy with tortilla wraps, plain chicken and salad.

Do fajitas like you were planning, possibly in 2 pans. Put fajita flavourings and spices in one only and offer the dc tomato sauce with theirs. Or do something simple like a cheesy (+broccoli?) mash with peas and roasted chicken breasts for the dc.

Another one here who used to make plain chicken for fajitas as well as spicy. They are both over it now but it was a gentle way of easing them in. Smallest Hairy still has no intention of having salsa, cheese, veg or sour cream though. Plain chicken and a wrap. A bit of lettuce if she's feeling adventurous.

Chicken with cherry tomatoes and mozzarella is always good. Or chuck some pasta and make it a bake.

Fanastic! Thanks everyone. Boring ones for little children and spicy for the rest of us Grin

For kids Id Always do thighs tbh. Skinless boneless. Way nicer and easier to chew

MehsMum · 07/03/2015 09:24

Chicken noodles? Spot of soy sauce and hold back the chilli?

improbablesaint · 07/03/2015 09:48

Agree. Even my fussiest liked this. I started with noodles with bacon peas snd sweet corn

Mix of plain and spicy is a good idea but I'd stick it on the table and let people have whichever one they like. Plenty of little kids eat spicy food. And then you get some adults who only eat plain stuff. My son would have looked like this SadEnvy if I tucked into a nice fajita and he got a boring one.
