Which food processor please?

I'd like to get a food processor that I can use for chopping, grating, blending, cake mixing, whipping, whisking, juicing... yes I want it ALL!

Searching through previous threads though it looks as if a lot of recommendations are for two gadgets. Can anyone suggest what I could get if I just want ONE please?

Are you sure you want one.

I had a Food mixer and didn't use it, as it was so much quicker to get out a hand held mixer for cakes.

And only chopped veg once in a blue moon if requiring a large amount.

It did chop ice for margueritas twice in 15 years

My Kenwood Prospero does all that - plus kneading. It was around £100 on offer from Amazon with everything included but check what you're buying as I saw it in some places for the same price without the blender and food processor attachments. It's a good little mixer but if cost is no issue I would buy a bigger Chef as it can handle larger volumes and do even more Smile

I've had kenwoods in the past (admittedly very much bottom end) but some people say they're not that good. Not that powerful, not that reliable... do you think that's true TheCold? Are other brands overpriced and you're paying for the name?

Mine has been fine in the 3 years I've had it. It is smaller than a Chef - the weight limit for the mixer and kneader is 500g of flour, but that's fine for us (family of 4).

Thanks TheCold!

PolterGoose I know Magimix have a great reputation but are they really worth the extra ££s?

I have a Kenwood Prospero too. Been using it for a couple of years and I'm pleased with it. Only downside is the storage space needed for all the attachments!
