Freezing home made mash

Is it as simple as make mash (milk? butter?), put in container, put in freezer? I have a big bag of sprouting spuds and a recently emptied freezer drawer, so they could be the most useful of friends Smile

I just make it as normal and then freeze any leftovers once cold.
In Tupperware.
Small ones get microwaved and served as potato castles (to DC only!)

Yes its fine. I used to freeze in a silicone muffin tray then pop them out into freezer bags for portions! microwaving to reheat works well or in a pan with some warmed milk and butter

Great, thank you both. I had myself convinced it couldn't be that simple!

I do a job lot of mash with sprouting spuds too, but I freeze it without adding anything to it so that I can decide when I use it if I want buttery mash / soured creamy mash / mustardy mash / mash with olive oil & parmesan...
I also think that it tastes a bit better if it defrosts slowly, microwaving it can leave it a bit soggy.
Silicone muffin tray tip is brilliant!
