Cos a banana is so easy to prepare whilst the rest takes some effort on your part.

Kayleigh · 22/04/2004 12:14

Oh I've got one like that, eats all that stuff but will not touch fruit. How bad can a grape taste ?????????

Codswallop · 22/04/2004 12:14

oh so true
he is so diff to ds1 who looks at everything as if its poison.

my dd only just started eating bananas at 16 mths, ate liver, onions, any fish and dirt off the floor (not that my floor is dirty ahem)
kids hhhhhhhhhhhhhhuh

Codswallop · 22/04/2004 12:19

and even if he does eat all this stuff when he is 8 he will be like my nephew who has a fit if one food" contaminates" the other onhis plate

lol

For the same reason DS2 will eat "round broccoli" but not sprouts.

bundle · 22/04/2004 12:26

he's an omega-3-fatty-acids fan, and doesn't like the squishy texture of banana

Twinkie · 22/04/2004 12:27

And my DD won't eat cauliflower but will eat white broccoli and hates parsnips but white carrots are nice!! - Go figure!!

Oh and angel cake is too pretty to eat??

Codswallop · 22/04/2004 12:28

ooh twinkie she is an aesthete!

My Ds loves bannanas, can't get them in his mouth quick enough.

He does hate scrambled egg though, which is a pain as it's one of my favourite quickie snacks to give them. DD's will eat it no prob.

SoupDragon · 22/04/2004 12:38

Twinkie, DS2 likes White Broccoli too

Codswallop · 22/04/2004 12:39

DS2 won't eat cauliflower. He will, however eat a mythical vegetable called "white broccoli".

He alson won't eat sprouts if you tell him they're sprouts but will eat them as white broccoli. He was bright enough to spot that orange broccoli was, in fact, carrots though.

Codswallop · 22/04/2004 12:45

My prob at the moemnt is that ds1 (at school) is incredibly fussy and while I do think " well sod him he can do without" as we eat normal food I do worry about his bone development and stuff so we tend tohave proceesed ish stuff for tea so ds2 and 3 , who eat normally have to have that

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 22/04/2004 12:45

Secur, there is something to be said for children eating stuff at other people's houses that they wouldn't eat at home. Both DSs ate a particular meal at my parents' house but would not eat the identical meal when I served it.

Twinkie · 22/04/2004 12:46

Cods - she eats cauliflower when I tells her it is brocolli that has not been out in the sun so has not yet gone green!!

She does eat everything though - oh except courgettes, mushrooms and olives.

Codswallop · 22/04/2004 12:46

hmmm

My dd doesn't like sweets either, had some jelly babies at a party and looked at them and then me as if to say 'and what are these pray tell?'.

Eats most things as well but has started to have strops so I am not getting smug. Friends have warned me that, at 18 months, she is about to turn devil.
