If I like Save with Jamie, any other ideas for recipe books I may like?

It's my birthday coming up, which means my annual chance to stock up on cookbooks! I got save with Jamie for Xmas and love it, it's just the sort of food I like to cook cheap , slow cooked so I can get it ready in the day and don't have to do any cooking during the 4-6pm witching hours.

Does anyone have any suggestions for other great books I should check out? Thanks in advance.

Jamie British Food cookbook is good, as is Chings Chinese Cooking!

Thanks, will get onto amazon. Was thinking of 15 minute meals, but all the ingredients are so decadent!

15 min meals won't avoid cooking during the witching hour as its all quick(ish) food to be dished up straight away.

If you like Save with Jamie, you may like Economy Gastronomy as, from what I remember, the concept is quite similar. Cook a big joint one day and then use the leftovers to make meals through the week.

I don't have save with jamie, but I'm a big fan of Delia Smith's frugal food. It was originally published in the 70s and revamped and republished in 2008. I also love Jack Monroe's girl called jack book.

15/30 min meals are a different and more difficult format. I second economy gastronomy or Jamie's dinners

Thanks all, will check them out and compile my birthday list accordingly!

Blimey, I got a deleted message! Wonder what wound someone up enough to get deleted!

Just wanted to say thanks, have just done. My first weeks shop from economy gastronomy, looking forward to some new meals.

Off the top of my head I remember that salmon chowder is divine and the pork shoulder with the following lasagne- whilst calorific, is delicious. The squash tagine is also lovely.

Oh good, making the pork shoulder and associated dishes at the weekend.
