30 minute (and under) cookbooks - come and talk to me about the ones you love/hate

My SIL was raving about Jamie Oliver's 30 minute meals over Christmas so I've looked at the reviews of this on Amazon. A number of these suggest Nigel Slater's book(s?) is better. Does anyone have a 30 minute cookbook they love and use so much it is falling apart. I work long hours and would like to cook a couple of evenings a week but in all honesty won't manage to spend more than half an hour doing so and don't want to get a book that requires me to spend ages searching for exotic ingredients.

Our Jamie's 30 minutes and 15 minutes books are both very well used, we love them!

I really love Nigel's, but be warned, he does like to add bacon cream cheese or butter to most things..l

Thanks for the warning minipie, I'm looking for something that's pretty healthy (or not too unhealthy) so may steer clear of that then.

I think Nigel is good for ideas to use with a full fridge.

Jamie has some good ideas but there's no way an amateur can do those recipes in 30/15 minutes from a cold start without a sous chef.

I quite like Nigella Express and The Hairy Dieters have some good supper ideas - not super-quick but realistic and healthy.

Love the 30 min cookbook that Jamie does but didn't get the 15 mins as recipes didn't appeal, seems to be a lot of fish. Also like the nigella express one, but have to say in both cases I tend to use the recipes rather than the short cuts on pre prepared foods that they tend to do.

My favourite is Diana Henry's cook simple. I also use Nigel Slater (real fast food, 30min, eat), nigella express and mighty spice (John Gregory smith) regularly.

Nigel's books are the business, I got the last to complete the set for xmas. I love them and use them very often. Have probably pretty much memorized them now.

Jamie's books are good, but now way can you complete any of the meals in 30 minutes without being in a professional kitchen complete with staff. His Saving with Jamie is a great book, but not for doing anything quick.

Just thought I'd report back - I bought the Diana Henry book and it has been amazing so far, everything has been quick and turned out delicious. I'll now try out a Slater book….
Further suggestions welcome as I'm on a roll for 2015!
