Decent tasting teabags

Jemster · 18/11/2014 17:01

I'm looking for a teabag that makes a nice cup of tea, strong enough so there is actually some taste to it.
I've just bought a box of PG tips called 'The strong one' and they are making me feel nauseous! It's not that they're too strong they just taste foul.

Any recommendations for decent teabags please?

Yorkshire tea, not gold or hard water just the normal one.

Mrsgrumble · 18/11/2014 21:26

Punjana

dorasee · 18/11/2014 21:26

Barry's tea, red label. I order 3 boxes of 80 bags per box, £9.99 on Amazon. Best tea ever. Irish... the best tea in the world. Yorkshire Gold when I'm stuck.

Clipper tea is my favourite. We have hard water in case that makes a difference.

TheJourney22 · 18/11/2014 21:31

Clipper or Yorkshire

agoodbook · 18/11/2014 21:34

Can I just put in a subversive word- best by far is loose tea made in a teapot Grin it really does make a difference . And to be honest, it varies depending on your water. Personally ( and we taste test every 4-6 months) best on last test was M & S breakfast

We used to be ardent Twinings English Breakfast drinkers but switched to essential Waitrose a few years ago (cheaper) and haven't looked back. It's Fairtrade too. I still do really enjoy a good cup of Assam though

Glengettie tea is the best. Never seen it in England though, only in Wales (I miss it).

peekaboo1 · 18/11/2014 23:08

Another vote for Waitrose Essentials. Unbelievably cheap and the only tea that tastes how tea should taste.

I'm with agoodbook - loose leaf tea, made in a teapot! Can't beat it. Smile Brew

agoodbook · 18/11/2014 23:15

Thank you Norman . I once had a workman and gang doing my drive- they drank gallons of tea. When they had finished, main man came and asked what tea I used as it was the best he had ever had. Explained about loose leaf tea, and sent him off with a pack though i'm not sure he had a teapot :)

I love Clipper and Twining's English Breakfast

BiscuitMillionaire · 18/11/2014 23:22

Twinings English breakfast for, er, breakfast, then Everyday for the afternoon. Don't use re-boiled water.

Has no one tasted Aldi reserve blend (gold box)?

Although, it might be made in Ireland.

Yorkshire tea. And Yorkshire Gold. I live in Hong Kong and bring back with me after trips. Unfortunately it's best made with Yorkshire water...

Halfling · 28/11/2014 01:39

Twinings Everyday
