Piping nozzle for small stars. 1M or 2D Wilton?

I only want a 6 pointed star to dot round the cake. Which of the above is more suitable? I know that Lakeland stock the second one but will it me small enough to do what I want? I don't want to do big cupcake swirls.

Oh, also do you need a coupler if you are using the nozzle with a disposable piping bag?

There are some good YouTube videos that compare those nozzles - have a look.

I have the 1M and it is a big cupcake swirl kind of nozzle. You can pipe stars but they won't be small. I use it in a disposable bag and there's no need for a coupler.

Rosie Cake-Diva is the channel I was watching. Good buttercream rose tutorial Smile

Can you tell me what sort of diameter it would be if you piped a blob? I want to do a border of stars round a big cake rather than cupcake swirls. Thank you.

About 2cm?

Thanks. That's too big for what I want to do but at least I know now.

It might even be more like 3cm to be honest! Either way, it's big.
