After discovering an alarming fact about petit filous i.e. sugar content. I am restricting the amount my dd1 (16 months) eats. Her talking has come on remarkably since (may be coincidence, but still). I would like to still offer her yoghurt/fromage frais with some fruit, but can I find anything that's not full of sweeteners or sugar if its not 99% fat free - Can I heck!! Any of you brill mums help?

Yeo Valley natural yoghurt.

this is the best yogurt ever!! you can also get yeo valley fruit compote if you want to add some fruit it has a little sugar but otherwise ok .
yeo valley is organic and also do kids yogs but they do contain sugar, otherwise rachels do yogs with no sugar so do mums4

yeo valley fruit tumbles have some sugar but are better than petit filous and are delicious.

We normally mix unflavoured yogurt with sweetened yogurt (Yeo Valley or Rachel's - Rachel's Greek yogurt is v high fat and lovely). This way you reduce the amount of sugar, and you can also adjust the fat content.

Right on my shopping list then. Thanks so much girls. Really feel awful for giving such stuff to my little girl!! You try so hard then you find out you're wrong. MUST READ SMALL PRINT (and it is really really small!) Thanks again. xxx

Rachel's organic yogurts for kids - no sugar, sweetened with fruit juice.

Another vote for Rachel's greek yogurt (or sometimes the Tesco organic greek style yogurt). It has a very mild creamy taste, so takes the edge of more tart fruit without sugar. Do you stew the fruit? If you use sweet raw fruits, it stays sweeter. i.e mashed sweet plum or apricot, strawberries, banana, ripe pear etc.

buy an easi yoghurt maker from lakeland
Or Rachels
Then yeo valley

albatros · 03/10/2006 10:14

agree yeo valley they are delicious, also because organic they are naturally higher in omega 3's due to the clover mix the cows eat

I don't stew fruit. dd1 hates the texture or taste!! So raw. Thanks again ladies. Will have to try them all I think.
