Instant mash cock up

Ordered frozen mash, they sent me instant. I don't think I'd eat it as is. Has anyone got any tried and tested recipes I could use it in? I thought maybe to thicken soups??

I use it to thicken soups and hot pots and it is not bad for potato bread.

Add tons of milk and butter, maybe some mustard or chives and it'll be fine - honest.

apparently nice in cakes too

Hmmm maybe I'll test some with butter, mustard etc. Though thanks for all your suggestions. I'll definitely do fishcakes! In fact I'll try all of the above if I have enough. Chocolate potato cake sounds wrong, though looks very right xx

Where did it come from? I find Sainsbury's own brand instant mash to be OK. All others, including smash, not great, but fine for potato cakes, fishcakes etc.

Best name ever ha ha!!! It came from Tesco... May attempt a fishcake later...

The cake does look a lot better than it sounds.
