You peel it, chop it into chunks, steam it until tender (10-15mins) & then mash it with some sour cream ( I use low fat), pepper, a bit of salt & a bit of nutmeg.

no, not really. it tastes a more like turnip & potato mixed up.

I normally mix the celariac in with mashed pots - and it would then certainly go with the lamb.

In fact I think mash pots and celariac is the perfect accompaniment - mash to soak up all that lovely lamb gravy - yum, yum

oooo oooo oooo

mash it with some grain mustard (a couple of big tablespoons

it is delicious.

also unlike potato which goes to glue, you can use a handblender on celeriac and get a really smooth mash.

i love celeriac mash.

make sure you use grain mustard though, which is mild, if you used dijon or something it would be far too overpowering and hot.

you could oven roast the carrots....bit of olive oil and crushed coriander seeds if you want to get fancy, but not if you don't.

absolutely gorgeous. much nicer than boiled imo.

Instead of I think

About 1/3 celariac mash to mash pots, by volume is about right- and grain mustard would work so well with it too - will try that next time myself!
