He slept through lunch so is sitting at the table right now munching on a bowl of it.

I find it quite odd.

He also eats them dry, like crisps.

Ds1 eats branflakes for breakfast every morning. I offered him honey nut cheerios, but no, he wants Tesco's own bran flakes. Dry.

LadyTophamHatt · 30/09/2006 15:09

strange little creatures, aren't they??

Ds1 also steals olives off my plate, which I am not smug about as I think they should all be for me. He won't eat peas, sweetcorn or beans though - he says they are "Roll-y in mine mouf, Mummy"

colditz · 30/09/2006 15:10

They are peculiar. It is so true that they don't do as you sya, they do as you do!

cece · 30/09/2006 15:11

DS who is nearly 3 eats thinks his boxes of raisons are sweets as I keep them in the high up cupboard where all the goodies like bisucits and sweets get stashed.

LadyTophamHatt · 30/09/2006 15:12

ds1+2, on the other hand, would rather eat dog food than let a single crumb of bran flake enter their mouths.

Dd4 (age 3) loves cereal without milk as a treat and loves malt loaf more than sweets, raisins too

LadyTophamHatt · 30/09/2006 15:13

Branflakes alone are rank IMO, with sultanas they are quite nice.

I'm always amazed when he asks for them.

My two love broccoli trees as we call them.
They also love the jordans strawberry crisp cereal and shreddies.

brimfull · 30/09/2006 15:43

my ds eats branflakes dry quite often, but there is sugar in them .I have to ration them as he can eat too many and we soon know about it

terramum · 30/09/2006 15:58

DS loves to have a bowl of sunflower & pumpkins seeds as a snack. Nothing wierd about that....however, raw potato (one of his other faves) is a bit wierd

belgo · 30/09/2006 16:09

Hi Terramum - how's the allotment? My dd unfortunately realised the difference between chocolate and raisons at about 18 months. Doesn't help that I'm a bit of a chocoholic.

popsycal · 30/09/2006 16:31

ds1 who is 4 loves bran flakes

terramum · 30/09/2006 16:33

Hey belgo - allotment is going v slowly but we have 1 bed dug & seedlings (raab & rocket) are in there now & I have cabbages, sprouts & perpetual spinach waiting to go in. Not done as much as we would have liked but we have lot of other stuff going on atm.

Somehow weve managed to avoid DS showing any interest in eating chocolate (despite us eating far too much of it). He knows what it is, can say it & loves feeding it to us ...but never asks for it himself. Keeping my fingers crossed he doesnt cotton on too soon

Tommy · 30/09/2006 17:21

my DS is 3 and he loves bran flakes too - "Mummy's corn flakes"

LadyTophamHatt · 30/09/2006 17:36

sugar??

in bran falkes???

And there was I thinking I was eating the healthiest of healthy breakfasts...might as well go back to frosties

in our naughty cupboard (the conents of which we have had to move away from little fingers) we had some ryvita. as they were in the correct cupboard ds now thinks himself very clever and cheeky for helping himself to one of a morning... wholewheat ryvita too - poo!
