Interested in what the Mumsnet foodies think of these. My DDs have been hassling me for weeks to buy them one as apparently "everyone" has them in their lunchbox, which I find hard to believe.
I succumbed in a weak moment yesterday and they looked vile, like a bit of raw ham stuck to a bit of greasproof paper, but my DDs were ecstatic and I figured it was better than sweets.

UGGHh, not sure whats in them but I've bought tem before.

All I can say is make sure you don't get them stuck on anything

I'm telling you even superglue isn't as sticky!!!

MrsSpoon · 25/09/2006 14:14

DS1 buys these if he has tuck shop money, better than sweets, not a good as a pack of dried fuit IMO.

MrsSpoon · 25/09/2006 14:16

Didn't realise they had loads of sugar and hydrogenated fats in, just looked at Piffle's link. Would rather he had a small bar of half decend choc then.

That's interesting Piffle - tooth rot award

Excellent Piffle : Sugars make up over a third of the product, which won a "Tooth Rot" award in 2002.
and
"Kellogg's Real Fruit Winders do contain real fruit, but it has been processed and supplemented with sugar, hydrogenated fat and other ingredients with little nutritional value," the jury said."

Gobbledigook · 25/09/2006 14:17

Erm, not studied the box but I wouldnt' buy them. I assume full of crap.

My kids probably have really boring lunchboxes but I'd rather just put fresh fruit in than this kind of thing. Yukster!

Piffle · 25/09/2006 14:19

I'm under pressure
first cheestrings
fruit shoot h2o and now this
My google is sweating
And I love bashing crap food!
Tell you waht and I know it's still wraped in foil but my kids (13 and 4) love the baby organic muesli bars...

I have to agree with you re winders Piffle - they're nasty nasty nasty

CheesyFeet · 25/09/2006 14:41

God they are grim. Vile, nasty things. Full of crap. I bet that most schools that have banned chocolate would allow this sort of thing though.
