5.5L or 6.5L slow cooker?

Am buying the Breville stainless steel slow cooker, but can anyone advise whether 5.5L or 6.5L is better for a family of five please? I plan to do lots of one pot recipies so need space for plenty of vegetables. Space is limited though and I don't want the pot to be too heavy to carry!

I have a family of 5 and a 5.5l and its too big. It boils dry even on keep warm setting, on googling this is because the dish is too big and there is too much air space. I going to buy a much smaller one to use this year as the idea is that I turn it on when I leave for work and come home to a nicely cooked dinner ready to serve, not a tough boiled dry pot of meat and veg.

We are a family of four and a 4.5l is perfect, generally enough room for leftovers. 6.5l sounds massive.

Thanks for your replies. Sounds like a 4.5 L may be more suitable. I like the possibility of being able to cook for more than five people if we have visitors with a 5.5 L, but don't want to spoil every day cooking.

We are a family of 7, but that includes one toddler and one baby and I find a 6.5L only just big enough really, but we do like big portions and if I do stew I like to cook the potatoes in it too and sometimes dumplings. I also make big batches of soup in mine to last a few days for lunches.

I've got a 3.5L and if I do soup in that then it's only enough for one meal really.
