Can you use those jars with the rubber seal that have a latch effect fastening. Do you know the ones I mean? I used them for my home made chutney etc and I got them from John Lewis.

our local kitchenware shop has them by the ton, as do Lakeland.

Do you have a lakeland near you? They do good ones and all the bits and bobs you need to fill them too (other than the fruit!). They don't charge for delivery over a certain amount and add a freebie if you spend enough too. HTH

Thomcat think you mean kilner jars?

Bramshott · 25/09/2006 11:10

You're not in Hampshire or Surrey are you?! I have a huge stack in my cupboard and no intention of making jam, so no idea really why I am keeping them!!

ButtonMoon · 25/09/2006 11:22

Unfortunately not but thankyou!! have no Lakeland near me either...anyone else seen them anywhere?

Freecycle could be worth a try. My mum recently freecycled a load because she'd never got around to her jam making. They were all odds and sods though.

Ah well - thought it was a long shot! Anyone else want them?! They are sitting there in my cupboard, mocking me for my non-jam-making!

I bought loads of cheap pasta sauce and emptied the jars to use them!
