Cake pop help please!

I've recently acquired a cake pop maker (as in this morning!) and have just baked my first batch of cake pops. I think they're a bit underdone, but I'm going to go with it, and my question is: what do I do now? They're currently sat cooling on the white plastic rack which came with the maker, and I have some orange candy melts I want to coat them with, but everywhere online is giving me conflicting advice. Should I chill/freeze the cake pops before putting the sticks in? After?

So, I was wondering if any of the lovely ladies of Mumsnet might be able to give me step-by-step instructions of what to do next?

Probably a bit late for you, but for what it's worth, my tips would be to thin down your candy melts with a little vegetable oil (or better yet, use real chocolate). Take your lolly stick, dip in choc, then insert into cake pop. Once you've done them all, freeze them for a while (don't have to be frozen, just really cold). Then take them out and dip into choc, rotate gently to let the chocolate drip off, then stick in a block of polystyrene to set.
And never make them again, they're a pain in the bum!
