So I have just started my maternity leave with DC2 due in 4 weeks. Have decided it will be very handy to try and get some food cooked up and frozen so that in those first few days post birth we won't have to worry about cooking from scratch particularly healthy food for DS.

We are generally unfussy eaters but don't eat spicy foods. Anyone got any recipes that work particularly well for this?

TIA xxx

There's loads of threads if you do a quick search. Favourites tend to be:

Bolognese (can be added to pasta, jackets, rice, wedges etc and turned into chilli)
Shepherds pie
Fish pie
Lasagne
Any kind of casserole
Risotto
Home made fish cakes or chicken goujons
Soups are good, it won't be long until it's chilly and you'll be thankful for an easy, healthy, warming lunch for you and dc1 Smile

Chilli (doesn't have to be made overly spicy)
Curry (as above)
Raw pizza dough - make balls of it wrapped in cling film then when you want the pizza, just get the dough out in the morning to defrost and make a fresh pizza in the evening.

We don't do spicy either and have often (and freeze well)

sausage cassoulet
turkey mince enchiladas
meatballs
steak pie
chicken fried rice
pulled pork
ratatouille
spag bol
lasagne
chicken and veg soup
carrot and lentil soup
vegetable strudel

Let me know if you want any recipes

When we didn't have a kitchen last year I did chicken thighs cooked with paprika, olives, tomatoes and wine (which I called Spanish chicken), bagged that up and froze it. I'd also make a gazillion of breadcrumbs (whizz up toast, Parmesan, herbs and bag) so you can then defrost a handful and use to coat chicken, salmon, etc.

Plus the usual as above...
