quick question: is it ok to give a five month old paw paw/papya?

Why not, mango is in a from 4 month food and I don't think pawpaw is much different.

Sorry, but I'm going to throw a spanner in the works! Papaya contains digestive enzymes, it's basically what meat tenderizer is made of. So I thought 'Would it tenderise baby intestines?' and I didn't give it to mine until they were a good few months older and eating a wider range of foods.

i remember reading somewhere that you shouldn't give a young baby non-native fruits because there's an increased risk of allergies. don't know if that's true... but just because babyfood contains mango doesn't mean mango is good - i can't believe the stuff that's classed as 4 months + - strawberry cheesecake in a tin?!
