spag bol.
have never made meatloaf in my life and in my mind it has 1950's connotations. Not necessarily in a good way.

Flumpybumpy · 13/09/2006 15:45

Spag bol

Meatloaf reminds of the fat, sweaty singer on the motorbike.

Saturn74 · 13/09/2006 15:46

Spag bol with peas in it as a compromise?

Twiglett · 13/09/2006 15:53

spag bol

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 13/09/2006 15:54

HC - there'll be lots of veg in the spag bol anyhow - I always throw in what every I've got lying around - so it'll have green pepper, onion, (and peas) in it (amongst other things).

Looks like spag blog is going to be the clear winner.

hulababy · 13/09/2006 16:07

I don't eamt meat so asked DD - she reckons spag bol. She looked somewhat bemused by meatloaf - I have never made it!

Greensleeves · 13/09/2006 16:08

Is it a bit like corned beef? I'm genuinely intrigued

No No No - that's cr*p meatloaf - decent meatloaf (that I make ). It's dry - and it's usually round as I don't have a loaf tin . It's usually lovely on moist and served with gravy (or tomato sauce - whichever I'm in the mood for LOL) you can add lots of seasonings and vegetables to it and when served up can look like this (although my presentation is never quite as good).

My mum used to make meat loaf and it was delicious.

meatloaf, not had it in ages, might have to make one soon.

CarolinaMoon · 13/09/2006 16:16

I see they've served it with a scone in that pic.

spose meatloaf makes a change from boring old jam on your scones doesn't it?

pussycatmomma · 13/09/2006 16:16

Meatloaf is much yummier than spag bol. I do a layer of cheese in the middle. Gorgeous.

Spag bol is quicker and easier mind you .

HRHQueenOfQuotes · 13/09/2006 18:19

well I'm doing spag bol - of sorts - realised I didn't have enough spaghetti - so we're having it with rice.

Organic Mince
(value) tinned tomatoes
Onion
Red Pepper
Dash of Worcestershire (sp) Sauce
Garlic
Tin of Chickpeas.
Few herbs

Happily simmering away now.

Just waiting for the brown rice to finish cooking.
