I'm this close to letting her go without!

Porridge, weetabix, bircher muesli are all being spat out or rejected. She's allergic to eggs so scrambled eggs, omelettes, etc. are off the table. She'll only pick off things on toast like cheese, ham, etc. and is too lazy to chew hence why I only offer her 'soft' foods. Sometimes she'll have a bowl of yoghurt and a banana but she won't have it everyday and it doesn't fill her up so she's hungry again almost immediately afterwards.

I'm trying to gently wean her off the breast, hence the desperation, as she's over-feeding and would happily replace all meals with bf.

My daughter is a milk fiend too (not bf any more but would solely exist on milk if I let her!) and I had to totally stop giving her milk in the mornings. She's two on Wednesday and she just has milk at set times now, after lunch/before her nap, and at bed time. I make an exception if she's ill.

If she knew she could have milk whenever I think she'd refuse all food! However she does love crumpets with butter and marmite. She won't eat anything bland.

What do you offer for lunch and dinner, and could you just offer that at breakfast? Personally I love tucking into a bowl of noodles or hearty soup first thing Grin

I know! I've tried to refuse feeds around mealtimes too so they're. not seen as a replacement. This morning a bowl of weetabix sat on the table for hours, she tried a spoon decided she didn't like it and asked to come down and have a feed. I said no, it's time for breakfast so she went off to do something else then every few mins returned to the bowl, I assume out of hunger, had a spoonful and left!

Oh don't start me about lunch and dinner coughle, that's another disaster, mostly pasta! I can't bear the idea of giving her pasta for all three meals... This makes me sound like a terrible parent Sad

DD isn't a massive eater in the mornings. She's usually awake for an hour or so before we sit her down for breakfast. She tends to graze during the morning rather than eating an actual meal. I think partly it's just age. She's too busy playing to want to sit down and eat!

How about a smoothie but add some oats that have been blitzed in a blender? Is it possible to make pancakes without egg? Baked beans?

I feel for you, my dd went through a pasta phase too, but has grown out of it, however she know wants sandwiches for every meal!

I am yet to try the smoothie, buying ingredients with this week's shop. I have tried pancakes, also not eaten and so were baked beans. A bit hopeful that smoothie might work as she does prefer drinking.

bagels? I don't really understand why DD1 used to refuse toast but happily eat a bagel!

Super easy banana pancakes

1 banana
1 egg
2 tbsp flour

Mash all together and cook. Makes 2 wagon wheel sized pancakes

My toddler goes nuts for these and they taste really good! I sometimes add raisins too. It's the only way I can get a whole egg into him.

Might solve your 'filling' issue

Impatientwino · 02/07/2014 18:46

Erm sorry missed the egg allergy bit sorry!
