DS2 has decided he doesn't like weetabix and yoghurt anymore, or toast for that matter. SUrviving on milk and fruit and the odd yoghurt forced down at mo - any ideas on what else to try? TIA

ds loves shreddies in warm milk.... quite a lot of sugar in shreddies i think though.... erm sometimes he will just have a handful of raisins.... occassional scrambled egg (if he is in the mood) ready brek goes down well, bread sticks.... erm anything that will go in really we try. Tends not to be a big breakfast eater so we dont push it and tend to have a larger earlier lunch instead. He has only just started feeding himself (at 15 months... is that late?) anyway since doing this he eats far more in the mornings.

jolly - thanks 4 replying. I've been doing what you have basically - just getting anything down him - handful of dry shreddies/cornflakes, this morning I was picking the fruit out of my muesli for him!!! Doesn't like scrambled egg. Guess I shall go for the bigger lunch and just hope he eats a bit of fruit at least for brekkie.

think they all go through phases dont they. i remember someone putting a recipe for breakfast muffins on here once that i am sure (if i could find the time to bake) ds would love, try looking in the archives for it. I have given up worrying about how much goes in now, he always seems to make up his appetite at some other point in the day. good luck!

Try something like Scotch Pancakes ready made from the supermarket bakery... when my two went off cereal they worked a treat and then they went back to cereal..

How about ready brek with mashed banana - use a whole banana and less cereal, its very sweet so you don't have to add sugar + quite filling.

SMM - anything on the scotch pancakes or just as they come?

You can buy Scotch Pancakes plain or with lemon and raisin. I tend to buy the plain ones and warm them with a little butter but you could add preserves but not honey if under 1 yr old... If your ds likes jam (low sugar of course!!) a little will do him no harm. Add the fruit too on his plate at about half the amount you would normally give to encourage the pancakes

Thanks for that SMM - will add them to my shopping list - quite like the sound of the raisin ones myself actually!

Crumpets, boiled egg with toast, jam on toast, bananas, those individual weetabix (easy to pick up too).

I love them myself... but not good for my waist!!!
