sticking to the tin when you cook them. I've just chucked one away as it was so solidly stuck on! used loads of butter to grease the tin beforehand

Get flexi bakeware stuff. It is flexible so flapjacks just plop out!

SoupDragon · 06/09/2006 20:26

Eat the mixture raw.

yum - I used to love doing that as a kid. Licking the spoon and the bowl after mum had been making cakes.
Haven't done it much since then - I'm a bit lazy at baking. Easier and cheaper to get them from the supermarket.

Speaking of flapjacks, can anyone give me a good recipe?
I'd never had them before I came to England and I LOVE them!

I am liking this thread title very much. How do you stop flapjacks?

They are taking over the world with their biscuity goodness.

Littlefish · 06/09/2006 21:38

I agree with tortoise - get a rubber "tin".

jangly · 06/09/2006 21:40

Carefully take them off the tin as immediately they come out of the oven. They usually only stick as they start to cool down.

mrsnoah · 06/09/2006 22:33

But on from that.. how do you make flapjacks moist? mine are always rock 'ard! In a kind of break your teeth way.

jangly · 06/09/2006 22:41

Cooking them for too long? It can be deceiving with any biscuits as when they first come out of oven they seem too soft to be cooked so its tempting to pop them back for a few minutes. Stick to recipe times and have faith!

Greaseproof paper sprayed liberally w/Fry Light.

SherlockLGJ · 06/09/2006 22:45

I find this works well with flapjacks
