I made your brownies today ...

Oh. My. God. That is what my friend kept saying as she ate them (she had 3 )

They are truly divine, so easy to make ... didn't last long (I think DD was eating them behind my back because I SWEAR I only had one tiny piece )

Please reconsider about your DSs marrying MotherInferior's DDs ... I want my DD to marry one of your sons so you can be her MIL

Heres my easy peasy scone recipe-

225g/8oz SR flour
small pinch salt
55g/2oz butter/marg
150ml or 3/4 pint milk

Mix flour & salt. Rub in butter until breadcrumbs. Mix in the milk. Form into soft dough with palette knife. Knead lightly on floured board then pat out into a round 2cm thick. Cut into 5cm rounds.

Put on greased baking tray, brush with milk, 220 / 425 / Gas 7 for 10 mins.

Sweet scones - add 55g / 2oz caster sugar to dry ingredients.

Fruit scones - add 55g / 2oz dried fruit and 25g / 1oz caster sugar to dry ingredients.

Savoury scones - add 85g / 3o\ finely grated hard cheese and 1 tsp dry mustard or 55g / 2oz chopped olives, anchovies or whatever you fancy.

Just searching through the topics and can't find it
There are references to it and in SW's early days she wasn't keen to give out the recipe ... so we may have to wait for permission from the Goddess of the Chocolate Brownie Heaven ...

Cappuccino, I've got Hoxtonchick's lemon drizzle recipe, which is quite divine. I'll send it to you.

oliveoil · 05/09/2006 11:10

Mars does the lemon drizzle cake iirc

MamaG · 05/09/2006 11:27

this is the marslady recipe

Lemon Drizzle Cake

9oz sugar
9oz butter
12oz s/r flour
4 eggs
3 level tsp baking powder
6 tblsp milk
grated rind 2 lemons

Mix all together. Put in lined tray. Bake about 30-40 mins (until knife comes out clean). Prick cake with fork and pour over some warm lemon juice (see below).

Squeeze the juice from the lemons and heat (20 secs in microwave). Add icing sugar to consistency you like. Spread over cake.
