I always do wraps for lunch - greek salad in one, maybe a tuna/mayo/sweetcorn in another (always a kiddy favourite) and a chicken salad one (few of each flavour)

Big bowl of kettle chips

Crudites (again, kiddie friendly)

What about a posted up plougmans?

Selection of British cheeses, chutneys abs pickles, lovely breads, apple, pickled opinions, could do cold roast beef instead of ham?
Crisp side salad, home made coleslaw, Waldorf salad?

What about homemade burgers?

I often do a 'build your own burger' themed meal when having kids over.

Make your own homemade burgers (beef, turkey or even lamb)

Have crispy fresh rolls, cut & buttered, with a selection of:

lettuce, tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, sliced gherkins, caramelised onions, difference cheeses, avocado (I usually have crispy bacon too, but you obviously wouldn't on this occasion)

have different sauces offer tomato ketchup, burger sauce, BBQ sauce, sweet chilli etc.

Adults & kids can create their own burgers according to their own taste.

I would serve with potato wedges & garlic mayo.

Big quiche with garlic roasted new potatoes, plus salad? Trifle or summer berries for pud.

Otherwise, I like the ploughman's idea.
