Stick blenders

I have burnt mine out and it was rubbish anyway: feeble, only supposed to be used on cool food and had to be washed up by hand.

If you have a fab stick blender please tell me all about it; not too bothered about price, it is something I use a fair bit.

I've got the kitchenaid one, it's brilliant, it's also a mini chopper, and electric whisk, comes eith loads of attachments.

I have one like this I think www.johnlewis.com/kenwood-triblade-hb724-hand-blender/p230898925 - I think mine has another attachment.

I LOVE it. I mostly love the fact that there is a stainless steel foot, as it can't discolour - I make lots of tomatoey, pepper-y curry type things. I love too the small processor cup thing, ideal for chopping an onion or some herbs, and used more than my actual processor. The potato masher is shite so you don't need that attachment. The whisk is ok, not as good as a blender/whisk, but useful to have.

If it broke today, I'd instantly order another - and I'd want another Kenwood stainless steel one with processor cup thing.

I bought one in Sainsbury's years ago. I remember it was only about 12. It isn't any particular brand, but has lasted for years. I use it almost every day to make soup, or smoothies or mashed potato, or something or other. It breaks in half, so the half with the blades on can either be rinsed under the tap, or put in the dishwasher.

Envy Kenwood Tri Blade Envy

My brother has one, I get stick blender envy every time I am at his house.

I'm desperate for my crappy Tesco one to die so I have an excuse to splash out.

I have a Bamix and it's great for whipping mashed pots and curry sauce. Also doubles as a mini, and I mean mini, chopper/whisk thingy. It's very good, very £££ but has lasted a good few years now and still going strong.

Bamix De Luxe

TinklyLittleLaugh · 30/05/2014 16:47

Thank you ladies. I'm not bothered about having lots of attachments as I already have my trusty Magimix. A couple of good candidates here though.

Had a plasticky kenwood that gave up a ghost a few weeks ago. A friend of mine showed me her one from lidl- not only metal one but also half of the price of kenwood. Couldn't get it though so went for this one www.sonicdirect.co.uk/Irons-Kettles-Coffee-Makers/Bosch-MSM67PEGB-Hand-Blender-Set-in-Anthracite-750W

So far it's fab, more solid construction than flimsy kenwood and 750 W motor is as powerful as some food processors.

Braun Multiquick here, I have the one with the mini chopper and whisk too. I've had mine almost ten years, and used almost daily, but now it's getting a bit. My mum and sis bought the same ones after using mine. Love it to bits, would replace with a higher model the day it broke.

ShoutyMom · 31/05/2014 16:17

*getting on a bit

differenttoyou · 01/06/2014 00:28

Another Braun here. Wouldn't have anything else by choice. It's much lighter than anything else on the market. Unfortunately, Braun don't sell any small kitchen gadgets in the UK at the moment.

I second the Kenwood Triblade - very powerful, which is important to make velvety soups. I think the potato masher is excellent and I use it all the time.
