Freezing lasagnes? To cook or not to cook that is the question.

I am making some lasagne dishes for a party and need to prepare them in advance and freeze them.

Once assembled, should I cook them prior to freezing? BBC GF website says to freeze them uncooked and add the grated cheese topping after thawing and just before cooking them. I am doing veggie and meaty versions. Also making my own pasta so the lasagne won't be those hard dry sheets out of a packet.

I would appreciate any thoughts on freezing the lasagnes.

Thanks...

I always freeze after layering, they will need reheating anyway so why bother oven cooking twice and risk a burnt top is my reasoning. Not failed me yet. I do use dry sheets thou not sure if it would make a difference.

You could freeze them uncooked, and then just before they're cooked, add a little more white sauce on the top.

I've found it's the top of the lasagne dries out in the freezer, even in foil takeaway dishes, and frozen quickly.

I tend to do a thick layer of white sauce on top layer (due to always making too much) so never found this a problem.
I also use the foil take away containers and lightly oil the cardboard tops to prevent sticking.
