Hi All I need your help!

I want to make my own version of this www.tesco.com/groceries/Product/Details/?id=261374975 from scratch for DS as he loves it...But I'm awful at making things up as I go - I need a recipe and/or some guidance!

How would you go about making it? What veg would you put in? I have chicken and an apple at the ready!

TIA Smile

How about trying this recipe? It hasn't got the rice but will still have the sweetness from the apple Smile

He might like [[http://www.mumsnet.com/food/recipe/790-Pork-and-apple-casserole this recipe too] Smile

I saw that AK recipe - he's 10mo and is really good with lumps in his food - would you just make that, but not blend it to a puree? The other one looks good too - will keep that in mind and get some pork!

You could always boil a bit of rice, add it to the AK one and either serve or mash with a fork. How is he with finger foods? Could you serve him strips of chicken and an apple lazy version Smile

Do you think he'd like one of these ham, cheese and apple muffins lacking?

Think I might cook that casserole again later in the week Smile

He's a bit contrary with finger foods actually..some days he insists on feeding himself, other days he'll only be spoon fed! I like the look of those muffins - saving that one for later too!

Going to have a bash at that AK one once he's in bed, thanks for the suggestions! Smile

Have you tried offering the finger food along with some finger foods? That way, however he feels he'll still get something. You could bake some cheese straws to go with the AK recipe Smile

Ah love it! Will definitely do those! I do try to offer up both when I can, but we struggle a bit with what to give him as I'm on the Cambridge diet (and therefore not really eating!), and DH is crap with vegetables! I find it easier to give him sweet stuff, and I know I need to try a bit harder with savoury! These are great though Grin

They'd be OK for freezing wouldn't they?

They will freeze, they will also keep in an airtight container for a few days. Mine never got as far as the freezer though as they would eat them so quickly Smile

Amazing, thanks again!

Just keep trying it, it's just different to what he's used to, so freeze into, portions & offer every day.

Def keep the sweet stuff away from him if you want him to be a good eater.
