Noooooooooooo, I really want to make it.

I'm pretending I'm a domestic goddess (although only for DS1 who'd be happy with omelette...again...he's an omelette fiend!).

Indulge me

I'm not bad actually - having a day at home today and don't want to bang my head against the wall, so must be OK

One which is piss easy to make and usually is successful (as in gets eaten) is this:

3 fl oz warm water
3 fl oz olive oil
8 oz s/r flour
pinch salt

Just mix together and knead for a bit. Spread out on tray (I usually put baking parchment under for ease of removal when cooked) and add toppings as desired.

nigella foccacia like pizza recipe.

500g strong white flour
one sachet of easy blend yeast (6-7g)
tablespoon of salt (i'd use a bit less, i've jsut made it and the bread is lovley but salty!)
300-400 ml warm water (couple of table spoons of olive oil in this)

all dry ingredients in bowl add most of water, make into soft dough, adding more water if needed (not sticky but soft).

knead for a bit (get kids to do it) until elastic and feels silky

put in clean bowl loosely covered in clingfilm for an hour or so til doubled in size

put quarter/third of it onto baking try in oval or round shape, spread it out so that it not too thin but pizza shaped.

leave for 20 mins or so to rise again

stick some toppings on it

stick in oven 180 degrees for about 15-20 mins

voila

Jamie Oliver's is lovely - I make it once a week and my kids prefer it to bought/take out pizza.

800 gms white bread flour
200 gms semolina flour
1 tbsp salt
2 sachets dried yeast
1 tbsp sugar
1 pint water

Mix all together, leave to rest for 15 mins covered in cling film, then roll out pizza bases thinly. Jamie doesn't let the rolled out bases rise again which keeps then nice and thin but the edges go all puffed up and delish. Def the best base I have tried, although I lways halve the ingredients as this amount makes LOADS !!

Thank you, ladies - MUCH appreciated.

Still not made a pizza But WILL!

(Discovered Sainsbury's SO Organic Margherita instead and bunged ham and mushrooms on it for DS1 )

oooh I have a recipe for a pizza base it is easy except for the kneeding for ten minutes at the end bit.....

1 cup (225 ml) Warm Water
2 tbsp (25g) Soft Butter
1 tbsp Granulated Sugar (I tend to use tsp here)
1 tsp Salt
3 cups (450g) White Bread Flour
1 tsp* Easy Bake Yeast

Put the flour, salt, sugar, butter and yeast into a bowl. Mix to a soft dough with the water. Turn onto a floured surface and knead for 10 minutes. Shape as desired and put into an appropriate greased tray. Leave to prove slowly* until double in size. Add your chosen topping/glaze if using and place in an oven preheated to 220°C/425°F/Gas Mark 7 and immediately turn the heat down to 200°C/400°F/Gas Mark 6. Bake for 25-30 minutes.

And I can't take credit for it as it's the recipe on the packet of flour, but god my Pizza dough is soft and fluffy ..... as it sodding well should be with all that kneeding.
