Hello kitchen supremos:
I have been muddling by with ikea and or other cheapie pots and pans and have two main problems- the handles are hot because they are all metal and the non stick ones are peeling off- sometimes in my food!!
So I'm going to treat myself to a good, long lasting set. Got on the John Lewis website and am now thoroughly confused! So;

  1. Non stick or not? If not then what?
  2. Any brand? My defaults are John Lewis or Le Creuset but prepared to branch out if you have a good tip. Although having said that, it needs to be deliverable from UK so stocked by John Lewis/ Debenhams or big department stores.
Thank you!

Bump! Someone must have an opinion! Maybe I'll try posting in a different area too...

I really like the Tefal Jamie Oliver ones and my dm swears by Miele pans. But we have induction jobs so we're a little bit limited.

And definitely non stick for the frying pan and skillet (you possibly don't need both).

I've had a set of the John Lewis Classic pans for 20+ years and have just (reluctantly) replaced them with John Lewis Classic II pans because I've converted to induction cooking. I also swear by Le Creuset. I own the following

'Stick'.... JLP Classic II large, medium and small saucepans, universal steamer, small sauté pan. Various Le Creuset cast-iron pots
'Non Stick'... JLP Classic II large frying pan and chef's pan (particularly brilliant). Le Creuset small omelette pan

The regular pans go through the dishwasher daily with no ill effects. After some bitter experiences I don't put the non stick ones anywhere near the dishwasher because, whatever they say on the label, they really don't like it!

Thanks everyone. CogitoErgoSometimes - I love the look of the John Lewis Classic Pans but do the handles get hot?! My ikea ones have metal handles and I burn myself every bloody time.
I forgot to say it has to be deliverable from UK to Singapore so hence the need for John Lewis or Debenhams...

In 20+ years of using them and their newer version, I can honestly say that I have never known the handles to get hot.
