Is there a RDA for sugar for toddlers?

Google has not been my friend today.

Does it matter how much fruit / naturally occurring sugar DD (1yo) eats, as long as I brush her teeth?

And everything I find about amounts of 'added sugar' - that is sugar as in chucking the stuff into bread, tinned spaghetti, yoghurt etc? That is listed on the ingredients as Sugar'?

I thought salt was going to be the tricky one, but at least I know the 1g a day limit. Sugar seems to be far sneakier and there seems to be far more of it!

I think you should go easy on fruit personally. Not because of the sugar content but because a lot of it is quite acidic... and that's more damaging to teeth. Otherwise, just use commonsense rather than trying to count it by the gramme. Make her diet mostly savoury foods with the occasional sweet treat. Sugar in moderation is not evil but a good source of energy, which is something toddlers need quite a lot of.
